Axemen COVID-19 Update
Hello Axemen Families.
On behalf of the Axemen Board of Directors, please know that we are thinking of all of our members, their families, friends and loved ones during these difficult times.
I would like to thank all of you for your continued patience as we awaited direction from the Calgary District Lacrosse Association (CDLA), the Alberta Lacrosse Association (ALA), Alberta Health Services and the Alberta Government regarding our season status for 2020.
This morning the ALA officially announced that all lacrosse activities have been cancelled for the 2020 Spring Box Season.

These are very fluid times, however and we remain optimistic that we can run a modified/shortened season at some point late spring or summer. If that becomes a reality, we will open a new registration and proceed with a new ‘season’. We will continue to share information as the situation evolves so please check your inboxes and our social media pages for the latest news.
We appreciate that the COVID-19 crisis has caused added financial pressure for many families, therefore refunds will be processed starting immediately.
At the point the season was suspended, the Axemen had incurred fees and expenses that we must cover to maintain the operation of our club.
These include:
ALA Fees (at $10/registered player)
CDLA Fees (at $8/registered player)
Floor/field rentals
Insurance
Coach Development
Evaluation Costs
Administration expenses and Credit Card fees
As a non-profit of course, we will hold back as little as we are able, to continue into the next season as a stable and healthy organization.
Below is the breakdown of refunds per age group:
Mini Tyke: $255 less 10% = $229 refunded
Tyke: $325 less 10% = $293 refunded
Novice: $390 less 10% = $351 refunded
PeeWee: $400 less 15% = $340 refunded
Bantam: $410 less 15% = $349 refunded
Midget: $435 less 15% = $370 refunded
(Junior will be dealt with separately at the RMLL level)
Late fees will be refunded in full. Refunds will be issued back to the credit card used for payment.
Our executive director, Robin will be busy over the next couple of weeks as she processes these refunds. Please be patient as you wait for the reimbursement. If you require immediate assistance, please contact Robin at executivedirector@axemenlacrosse.com
