Children's Fitness Tax Benefit Receipts

Will be issued electronically annually at the conclusion of each season.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Treasurer.

The children's fitness tax credit allows parents to claim a maximum of $500 per year for eligible fees paid for each child who is under 16 at any time during the year. As with most other non-refundable tax credits, the credit is calculated by multiplying the eligible amount by the lowest marginal tax rate (15.5% in 2007).

The Minor Box Lacrosse season typically runs from the end of April through to the end of June. The Provincial tournaments are held in July.

Registration for Axemen Lacrosse begins in January with a mail out and e-mail notification to returning players.

No walk in registrations will held.  If you have questions, please email the Registrar or Communications coordinator.

Road side signs provided by Calgary District Lacrosse will begin popping up in January with details or visit www.axemenlacrosse.com.

Registration fees are reviewed annually.  With the exception of Mini-tyke, all fees include a $ 50 club fundraising fee.

The divisions are based on birth-year with an “over-lap” year in Minityke/Tyke to accommodate those players who may be ready for more challenges than the Minityke division.

Full contact “Girls Box” begins at the Peewee division. Younger aged girls would play on teams with the boys.

There is an optional pre-evaluation beginner clinic available for new players and goalies.

Evaluations are held in early April, dates will be posted when available.

There are typically 2 games and 1 practice per week. Games are played in Arenas throughout the city with possible travel to Cochrane, Airdrie, High River, Okotoks, Strathmore and Cranbrook.

Games are 1 hour for Tyke/Novice, 1.25 hours for Peewee, 1.5 hours for Bantam and 1.75 hours for Midget.

If your child plays hockey or ringette, much of the equipment can be used for lacrosse. A complete equipment listing is available on our website as well as places to buy. Selection may be limited in the off-season at some locations.

With all minor sports associations there is a withdrawal policy. Axemen’s policy is reviewed yearly and will be posted on the website under FORMS each season. We ask parents to familiarize themselves with this policy during registration.
