Coaching Course Registration and Pre-Assessment Guide

As a result of confusion over the registration and 'pre-assessment' process for NCCP courses, CDLA has created a guide to lead coaches through the process.   Please visit the CDLA website for details.

There are mandatory levels that coaches must achieve to coach in the Axemen Lacrosse Club.

Community-Initiation: Mandatory for Mini Tyke and Tyke Head and Assistant Coaches
Community-Development: Mandatory for Novice and PeeWee Head and Assistant Coaches
Competitive-Introduction: Mandatory for Bantam and Midget Head and Assistant Coaches

Mini Tyke, Tyke and Novice

The CDLA Office has arranged for a series of coaching clinics for coaches in the Mini Tyke, Tyke and Novice divisions.  These clinics are designed to provide some direction as to how to run the new game/practice format as per the CLA Long Term Athlete Development Plan.

The clinics will be held next Tuesday, April 27 and Wednesday, April 28th.  Coaches only need to attend 1, 1 hour session on either night.  Attendance is voluntary but strongly recommended.

Coaching Videos

The Halifax Hurricanes website has some great coaching video aids. The videos can be viewed on the internet or downloaded onto your computer.

The videos include drills and tips on passing and catching, team defence, individual defence, individual offence, motion offence, goaltending, special teams and more.

It's a great resource and something very visual to show your players!
